  • If you are going to take Spanish for a while, it might be a good idea to get a Spanish-English dictionary- LAROUSSE is the brand I recommend, but you have to make sure you get Pocket Edition and NOT pocket-sized.  I believe they run about $6.95 new and you can also buy them used online. We will also your wordreference.com

Greetings, Saludos, Bonjour! My name is Carmen Douglas and I am excited to continue working at Angevine. I am the World Languages teacher. I graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder with my degrees in Spanish Literature & Language, Secondary Education, and French. Spanish is my first language, followed by English, and later French. I completed my Master's Degree in Educational Equity & Cultural Diversity (EECD) with an emphasis in Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education from the University of Colorado at Boulder in May 2019, woohoo! I was born and raised in Spain and have lived in South Korea, Germany, the United States, and France. I started my official Boulder Valley career at Angevine, after  a couple of years, I took a position at Boulder High School (I had done my student teaching at BHS). I returned to Angevine after my wonderful high school teaching days at Boulder High, and I am extremely grateful to be part of the Angevine Community. I have taught several levels of Spanish and French, and also taught English to youth while living in France. I believe that learning is the central activity in the classroom. I am extremely passionate about working with kids while creating a safe and healthy learning environment in which they are eager to learn. I am always looking forward to another great year at AMS! Go Bobcats! And of course, Go Broncos!

I am excited to start the new 2023-2024 School Year in August!
